Wraparound Childcare

We are proud to offer wraparound childcare facilities for our pupils onsite at Kilmaine Primary School and Nursery Unit, from 8am to 6pm daily.

Breakfast Club at Kilmaine

Doors open at 8am with familiar, friendly faces for the children attending Breakfast Club in the school’s Dining Hall.  A small daily fee ensures your child has two breakfast items and 45 minutes supervision in a welcoming, home-from-home environment before being escorted to their classroom door for school starting at 8.45am.  We believe in supporting our working families by providing this option in the morning routine during term time.  Children can relax with friends, colour in and listen to music before they head off to school.  Parents are asked to book their child’s place online in advance of the week commencing, using the school’s online payment system, SchoolMoney.

*With special thanks to Bangor NI Foodbank for their generous donations of cereal.  This has allowed the school to maintain the same price for Breakfast Club despite rising food prices, since it began in 2019.

The Fox's Den

Childcare Provider at Kilmaine

The Fox’s Den is a private childcare provider situated onsite at Kilmaine Primary School, exclusively for pupils who attend Kilmaine.  The proprietor, Mrs Sinead Fox, has included useful information about the childcare provision she offers below.  Fox’s Den staff collect children at their normal pick-up point and look after them on school premises until 6pm each day.  Further information and booking options can be found at:  thefoxsden.club

Extra-Curricular Activities

There really is something for everyone at the school, from sports clubs to drama and music, we cater for all children’s interests.

Typically, after school club provision operates weekdays from 3 – 4pm and usually is available for pupils in Year 3 and above.  The options change termly and the Vice-Principal will communicate with parents with all the activities on offer, with dates, times and booking arrangements.  Many after-schools clubs are organised by teachers and are therefore free of charge.

Other clubs are operated by outside coaches and incur a small weekly fee.  There is a whole array of club options for pupils.  In recent years we have hosted Football, Hockey, Netball, Cross Country, Dodgeball, Active Sports NI, Gymnastics, Tap Dancing, Tennis, French, Spanish, Illustration Club, Minecraft, Miniversity, Mindfulness, Cookery, Drama, Debutots, Fun Choir, Peace Proms Choir, Performance Mime and more.
